The Colorado Symphony Adopt-A-School Program

The Colorado Symphony Adopt-A-School program currently supports an integrated music education program at Farrell B. Howell K-8, which opened in the 2006-07 school year. Located in the Montbello neighborhood in northeast Denver, the school serves a predominantly Hispanic-American and African-American population; 87% of the students participate in the school’s Title I program. An arts integrated curriculum drives teaching and learning with a committed faculty comprised of music teachers for vocal music and violin, a drama specialist, a visual arts specialists, a media arts specialist and a library arts specialist. During the 2010-11 school year Colorado Symphony musicians will participate in the school’s Lights On After School (LOAF) program.
